Shoot Accurately With A Bow Sight

It’s one thing to be able to shoot a compound bow, but when shooting a compound bow with any degree of consistency accuracy that becomes a whole new matter. Even the most experienced archers and bow hunters will not shoot with the same consistency every time if they are not using a bow sight.

A bow sight is a piece of archery equipment that will prove to be a success when you require a well placed shot. You will not only become a more confident archer but it will also help you to improve on your skills.

Bow sights can be bought with fixed pin or movable pin sights, movable pin sights being most common. The hunting bow sights are usually fitted with fixed pin sights; this consists of a series of sighting pins displayed in the sight housing which provides you with set distances to line your shot up with.  These sights usually are made up of 3, 5 or 7 pins. A popular sight that consists of the number of pins mentioned before is the Spot Hogg Real Deal bow sight.

Target and hunter shooters use a different type of bow sight that is an adjustable sight.  These types of sights generally consist of a single sighting pin, which is often placed vertically in sight. A shooter may decide to adjust the sight depending on the distance of where the target lies compared to where you are standing. A sight help provide shooters with the ability to zero on the target with his sight but also gives you the ability to accurately judge the distance in order to adjust the sight properly. HHA bow sights are very popular adjustable sights.

When you have picked out your bow sight you think will best suit you, it’s best to go to the shooting range to tune your bow.  Shooting practise arrows over a series of distances will help you test out your bow sight and which setting needs to be adjusted so you will be confident with your shooting when you use it next.
